We're 4 Years Old!

This is something I didn't expect to see: LifeDirt's 4th birthday! Not because I didn't think it was a good idea for a business or that there was no interest in the product/service (I certainly wouldn't have taken the risk if that was the case), but because I was honestly in a bit of a daze when I started it.
It was mid-2020 when the idea of LifeDirt began to take shape, and early 2021 when I finally pulled the trigger, having left my previous job for the sake of this great unknown. My life was in turmoil in many ways, so why not take a crazy chance? (Yes, that *is* a direct quote from Hilary Duff...)
On March 7th, 2021, with the help of mentors, grants, a loan, and friends and family who were just waiting for the day when I'd start my own business, I took my first wobbly steps into solo entrepreneurship.
LifeDirt has seen several team members since the early days, all of whom have been a great blessing to me (imagine anyone else wanting to come along on the crazy ride of a brand new business venture!), and we have formed partnerships with more local farmers, vendors and service providers than I would ever have expected.
Now, we have dozens of faithful subscribers and regular customers and are honoured to lift up our local farmers through providing a new route for our community to access their products. We have the opportunity to work with smaller producers when their harvests are plenty, and have a focus on produce that has been grown in a way that considers the health of humans, animals and the earth. Mirage Foods in Sussex supplies us with our imported goods to keep our boxes well rounded in the winter months.
My dear friend Sonya designed our logo (below) a few years ago, which speaks of abundance and rootedness. My hope for the coming years is that we will continue to bring about the connection of many people to our good Earth through the food that grows around us, and that we will grow deeper roots in our community, fostering mutually beneficial relationships and building up a network of people dedicated to the bettering of our world, starting in small ways: as small as a seed in the ground or a shared meal around a table.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
