Cold frames are basically a window that you put over a garden bed that functions as a tiny greenhouse, creating the conditions for a longer growing and harvesting season. You don’t have to have a giant greenhouse in your backyard (or even a backyard at all!) to give this a try. We’ve teamed up with George Robinson on the Kingston Peninsula to create beautiful cedar cold frame garden boxes measuring 2’x4’ that we’ll be taking orders as of today!
Next, we’ll be hosting a workshop with Kara Carline at the South End Community Garden in Saint John. She will teach us about cold frames and show us how to set them up. If you so choose, you can purchase a cold frame garden bed and bring it home with you (along with some soil and seed packets) after the workshop! Or you can just attend the workshop to get the gist of it.

Let customers speak for us
from 123 reviewsMy wife and I love digging into our Lifedirt box every two weeks to see what new things we have to try. It's a real motivation to eat more fresh veggies. Not once have I been disappointed by the quality or variety of the boxes. Miriam and team care deeply about their customers and, I believe, equally much about the farmers and producers they engage.

This is the most rewarding subscription I've ever had! Im helping support a local business which in turn is supporting many other local businesses which all hold many of the same principles and values as I do when it comes to the food we eat and how we sustain and encourage community. I also get super fresh and delicious produce that essentially forces me to eat better and try new things because I'd hate to let anything go to waste knowing all the caring hands that had to work to get it to my kitchen. Thanks so much.

I am always pleased with the items in the box. I like the idea of a subscription since I missed a couple of weeks as they were all sold out

Thanks to Miriam & the Life Dirt crew for the time & dedication they put into gathering produce & other products from southeastern N.B. The price of the produce box is affordable, the quality of the products is excellent & the distribution to customers is done with a smile. 😊 And who doesn’t feel good supporting local farmers & buying Canadian 🇨🇦

I love the Bear Roots Forest teas. They are delicious. I'm so happy to have found an herbal Chai so that I can enjoy a Chai that still has a good, strong Chai taste without the caffeine.

We are enjoying our produce boxes. Excellent recipes included with every delivery, thank you, this added feature is so appreciated and useful. I’ve made a few soups and stews already - delicious!
