Giving Simply & Connecting More This Holiday Season
Share
Let's be honest; the whole focus on gift giving during the holiday season can bring on a lot of stress. We have some simple, local, organic gift offerings this season that you can just add on to your produce box any week and you're covered! But because our team doesn't love the hype and expectation around gifts galore, I've included an "alternative" underneath some of our gift ideas. For those whose love language is not physical gifts, these alternatives may end up being even more meaningful this holiday season!
Additionally, scroll down to get a sneak peek at a "pay-it-forward" idea proposed by one of our subscribers that is finally happening this season!
But first, soup! On an unrelated but time-sensitive note, you can click here to pre-order your soups from Dolma Food that we'll be ordering for our next round of boxes.
Gift Ideas Featuring LifeDirt Products
Lion’s Purr Hot Drink Mix: Warm up someone’s holiday season with our one and only Lion’s Purr hot drink mix. This rich, calming faux-cocoa mix is perfect for cozy nights by the fire. Made with caffeine-free carob powder instead of cocoa, as well as ashwagandha, local lions mane mushroom powder, cinnamon, ginger & cardamom, this drink was designed to soothe and support you in an often wild season of the year. It’s a great size for a stocking stuffer and makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who wants to slow things down.
Alternative: Gift an invitation for an evening of homemade hot drinks and board games!
Maple Syrup and Honey: Looking for a sweet little something? Our local maple syrup and honey are perfect for anyone who loves to add a dash of sweetness to their day. These natural treats come from Tobique First Nation and the Kingston Peninsula.
Alternative: Gift a sweet trip to a "sugar shack" this winter (check out Elmhurst Outdoors in Kingston)!
Holiday Produce Box: Imagine receiving a whole box of fresh, seasonal produce as a gift! Our Holiday Produce Box is filled with locally grown goodies, making it easy for your loved ones to whip up hearty, wholesome meals over the holiday season. Perfect for families and foodies who love a good meal.
Alternative: Gift an evening when you supply the ingredients to make a meal together.
Cranberry Chutney: This homemade chunky cranberry sauce is made with organic NB cranberries, local honey and organic ginger. Perfect condiment for a turkey dinner!
LifeDirt Gift Cards: Not sure what to choose? Our gift cards are a great option, giving your friends and family the freedom to pick their favourites. Gift cards can be used on all LifeDirt products: a contribution toward a healthier, more earth-friendly lifestyle for your loved ones.
More Eco-Friendly Gift Ideas (that we don't sell):
Bake Holiday Treats Together: One favourite memory from many people's holidays across traditions and around the world is cooking particular foods together with loved ones. Why not invite a friend over to participate in preparing one of your traditional holiday treats?
Reusable Bags or Containers: Reusable bags or containers make a great addition (or packaging) to any gift. They’re practical, reduce waste, and are perfect for grocery runs or packing snacks on the go. Anne at The Feel Good Store in Saint John carries lots of stainless steel lunch boxes!
Locally Made Goodies: From handmade soaps to cozy candles, supporting local artisans is a beautiful way to spread holiday cheer and support your neighbours. Look for items made by local artists and creators that align with your values. There'll be several small-scale vendors alongside us at the Station 33 Holiday Market in Hampton on November 30th (1-6pm) & December 1st (10am-3pm). We'd love to see you there!
